The Fashion for Life San Antonio “Legacy” Scholarship was created to celebrate and support young men who are stepping into their purpose with confidence, determination, and heart. Launching in 2026 as our inaugural year, this scholarship is designed to uplift graduating high school seniors who are committed to growth—academically, personally, and within their communities. Rooted in our legacy of empowerment, leadership, and self-expression, this program invests in the next generation by encouraging young men to dream boldly, walk with integrity, and believe in their ability to shape their own future
In Honor of
Richard "Ricky" Rodriguez
In loving memory of Ricky, a cherished youth model whose life embodied courage, individuality, and determination, we are proud to announce the Richard "Ricky" Rodriguez Legacy Scholarship. This scholarship has been established to honor Ricky's legacy and to continue uplifting young people who, like Ricky, strive to live authentically and pursue personal growth with purpose.
Ricky was more than a model. He demonstrated resilience in the face of challenges, embraced his individuality unapologetically, and carried a deep desire to better himself and inspire others to do the same. This scholarship seeks to recognize a young person who reflects those same values.
SCHOLARSHIP DETAILS
Scholarship Award
- Award Amount: $1,500
- Number of Recipients: One (1)
- Purpose: To support educational goals that inspire personal development and academic achievement
Eligibility & Selection Criteria
The scholarship will be awarded to one outstanding individual who demonstrates:
- Courage in overcoming obstacles or standing firm in their values
- Individuality and authenticity in self-expression
- Determination to pursue goals despite challenges
- A clear desire for self-improvement, growth, and positive impact
Applicants should also embody respect, integrity, and a commitment to becoming their best selves—qualities that defined Ricky's life.
Use of Funds
Scholarship funds may be applied toward tuition and/or other qualified educational programs which promote personal development in support of the recipient’s future goals.
Application Process
To be considered, applicants must submit the following:
- Completed application/Jot-form
- Receive confirmation email from Info@fflsa.com with submission instructions to include:
- Personal Essay (500–750 words) describing how they demonstrate courage, individuality, determination, and a desire to better themselves
- One Letter of Recommendation from a mentor, teacher, coach, or community leader
- Letter of acceptance from a college or trade school program. Include your student number and contact information for program registrar’s office.
Ø Application Deadline: April 30, 2026
Ø Submission Method: Jot-Form & FFL Essay Form
Applications will be reviewed by a scholarship committee, and one recipient will be selected based on alignment with the scholarship’s values and intent.
Award Announcement
The recipient will be announced on May 15, 2026 and their name and likeness showcased at the 2026 Fashion For Life Purple Reign Fashion Show; an event that Ricky loved. This scholarship is not only an investment in one individual’s future, but a living tribute to the enduring spirit and legacy of Richard "Ricky" Rodriguez.
Through this award, we honor a life that continues to inspire courage, authenticity, and hope in others.
